I did a search of the site and did not find this. I apologize if this is a duplicate post.
It is with regret that I post that Bob Sloan has passed away.
Robert "Bob" William Sloan, 70, of Indianapolis, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018.
Although I only met Bob once (at the Scottsdale ALEC protest) – over the course of many years, we kept in contact while we leveled our fight against the American Legislative Exchange (ALEC) online.
Bob was the driving force of the Exposing ALEC and Abolishing ALEC threads on Daily Kos. His diaries were a demonstration that facts matter and our voices matter.

Our valiant fellow fighter Bob Sloan passed away this weekend.
Bob was fighting to expose ALEC before we launched ALECexposed.
He was at the historic first public protest of ALEC in Cincinnati in the spring of 2011, the protest that helped inspire the ALEC whistleblower to emerge.
Bob began investigating ALEC as part of his work to document and expose the prison privatization schemes of ALEC.
He learned of the way corporations were exploiting prisoners and how states were forcing that exploitation first hand while serving time in Florida. He challenged part of the PIE practice and won—unlike the famous song, Bob fought the law and Bob won!
Bob literally transformed his karma into his mission. He helped found the Voters Legislative Transparency Project, VLTP, with fellow bloggers from Daily Kos. He has kept that work going and that research available for these past seven years.
His work was featured in The Nation, which broke the story of our launch of ALECexposed, and on other sites. He was featured in Ava Du Vernay’s film The 13th, which was nominated for an Oscar and which won Emmy Awards and a BAFTA. He continued to work to investigate and write about ALEC, not just on prisons but on many areas, including the courts and ALEC’s efforts to export the Koch agenda abroad. He was tireless in his resolve and joyful despite the obstacles!
Rest in peace, Bob.
Your voice will be missed.
May your spirit continue to guide us in our fight for truth and justice.
