GOP/NRA Want to Brainwash Students on Second Amendment

I thought that this should be brought to the attention of the community.

Below the squiggle is a bill that was introduced in South Carolina by three legislators - 2 of them members of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC).  Since ALECers are involved here - it will no doubt rapidly spread across the United States and I thought others should be aware and watchful.

This bill does not create voluntary participation - it creates mandatory participation - unless you opt out.  You have to opt out - it is unclear as to whether you can do this once - or if you have to opt out every year.

You're first response may be  - - this will never pass.
But you have to consider the fact that - - - it has been introduced.
If people don't know to watch for this - it just may pass.  

Highlights

DESIGNATE DECEMBER FIFTEENTH OF EACH YEAR AS "SECOND AMENDMENT AWARENESS DAY" 

This happens to be the day after the Newtown Sandy Hook shooting anniversary.

and

TO PROVIDE ALL PUBLIC  ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, MIDDLE SCHOOLS, AND HIGH SCHOOLS SHALL PROVIDE INSTRUCTION IN THE SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION FOR AT LEAST THREE  CONSECUTIVE WEEKS IN ONE GRADING PERIOD IN EACH ACADEMIC YEAR

Three weeks of indoctrination on the Second Amendment - every year - elementary, middle and high school.

and

THE STATE SUPERINTENDENT OF EDUCATION SHALL ADOPT A CURRICULUM FOR  TEACHING THE SECOND AMENDMENT THAT HAS BEEN DEVELOPED OR RECOMMENDED BY THE  NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION

For such this purpose the State Superintendent shall prescribe suitable texts adapted to the needs of the high schools, universities, and colleges for the instruction required under in Sections 59-29-120 and 59-29-130.

SECTION    5.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor and applies beginning with the 2015-2016 academic year.
