ALEC headquarters never cease to amaze me.
ALEC has been in the shadows for so long - they have absolutely no idea how to act, when exposed to sunlight.
Instead of owning up to what it does and has done - ALEC tries to cover up everything with a web of deception that inevitably comes back to bite them in the ... IRS audit that may be coming.
Dubya introduced us to the Axis of Evil, when for 40 years the true evil was being perpetuated by ALEC legislators, with their legislative Acts of Evil.
In 2005, the NRA pushed the Stand Your Ground law in Florida – then the NRA brought Stand Your Ground to an ALEC meeting and ALEC legislators started pushing it.
When ALEC finally got caught as the pusher of Stand Your Ground legislation its PR Poobah said:
"The American Legislative Exchange Council does not support Stand Your Ground policies. The Council focuses solely on pro-growth, economic issues to increase opportunity for all Americans."
Then last year they got caught again
Recently when legislation was introduced at an ALEC meeting for partial nullification of the 17th Amendment, its PR Poobah said:
After it wasn't advanced out of committee, the board also said any resolution on the 17th Amendment has to do with elections, and we don't do elections."“We don’t do elections.”
Really? ALEC doesn’t do election law?
What about Voter ID?
In 2012 when they got their finger caught in the voter suppression jar it made this public statement:
“We are eliminating the ALEC Public Safety and Elections task force that dealt with non-economic issues, and reinvesting these resources in the task forces that focus on the economy. The remaining budgetary and economic issues will be reassigned.You see ALEC – doesn’t accept responsibility for anything that ALEC does.

ALEC – doesn’t accept responsibility for anything that ALEC does.
